Hitachi Secures €481.6 Million Contract for Turin Metro Line 2 Automation

Hitachi Ltd.'s Rail division has received a €481.6 million contract from the City of Turin for the fully automated Metro Line 2. This contract includes €388.5 million for the base section and €93.1 million for an optional section.

Line 2 will cover around 28 km with 31 stations, set to open its first section by 2033. Each train will accommodate 404 passengers and will be fitted with the latest CBTC signalling system for fully driverless operations. Additionally, trains will utilize Hitachi's HMAX system for real-time monitoring and asset management, enhancing performance and efficiency.
