Hunan Battery Materials Firm Secures RMB 5 Billion Investment for Lithium Project in Sichuan
A Hunan-based battery materials company has signed an agreement for a RMB 5 billion lithium project in Sichuan. This initiative will enhance regional recycling capabilities and aims for significant revenue and profit generation.

On August 21, a battery materials company from Hunan, linked to Tsinghua University, finalized an investment agreement with Gulin County's government in Sichuan. The contract involves a lithium battery materials circular utilization project with a total investment of around RMB 5 billion at the Gulin Economic Development Zone.
The project will be implemented in two phases, establishing an annual capacity of 60,000 tons of lithium-bearing ternary precursor and a refining line for 20,000 tons of mixed hydroxide precipitate. Expected annual revenue is over RMB 7 billion, with net profit projected at RMB 500 million at full capacity. This initiative complements the company’s existing operations in Hunan and Guangxi, forming a comprehensive recycling network across central and southwestern China.
