Director Rizky Muhammad Kahfie highlighted the country's commitment to CCS, targeting Asian markets and collaborating with nations like Singapore, Japan, and South Korea. ICCSC is also set to host The 4th International & Indonesia CCS Forum 2026 to promote dialogue on decarbonization efforts.

The Indonesian Carbon Capture and Storage Center (ICCSC) stated that U.S. President Donald Trump's climate policies do not impact Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects in Indonesia. ICCSC’s Director, Rizky Muhammad Kahfie, emphasized that despite some countries deprioritizing CCS, Indonesia's focus remains unchanged.
The country targets Asian markets for its CCS initiatives, partnering with nations such as Singapore, Japan, and South Korea, with existing bilateral agreements in place. To enhance the CCS ecosystem, ICCSC is collaborating with On Us Asia to host The 4th International & Indonesia CCS (IICCS) Forum 2026, aimed at fostering discussions among governments, industry, and academia.
Kahfie remains optimistic about the continued development of CCS projects in Indonesia as long as Asian countries face similar climate challenges and share decarbonization commitments. Trump's announcement on January 7, 2026, regarding withdrawal from 66 international organizations, was cited as not affecting Indonesia's CCS agenda.
