IFX to Invest $45 Million in Guatemala's AI Infrastructure Expansion
IFX plans to invest approximately $45 million in Guatemala by 2027 to boost local data center capabilities for AI applications. This investment is part of a larger $400 million regional initiative to enhance cloud, cybersecurity, and fiber optic networks in Latin America.

IFX will allocate about $45 million to Guatemala between 2026 and 2027, focusing on data center expansion for artificial intelligence applications and strengthening regional infrastructure. This investment follows the recent launch of Orión, the newest data center in the company’s network, and is aligned with IFX's regional strategy of over $400 million aimed at enhancing cloud services and cybersecurity across Latin America.
The initiative will enable local sectors, such as banking and healthcare, to utilize AI while complying with local data protection laws. IFX identifies banking, government, retail, health, education, and critical industries as key sectors for this investment. By 2030, the company aims to be positioned to meet the growing demand for AI infrastructure in Latin America.
