India's 2026-27 budget designates ₹1,07,549 crore to bolster its navy, targeting a fleet of 230 ships by 2037. Currently, 50 warships are under construction, incorporating indigenous designs to foster self-reliance.
The navy plans to boost its aviation assets from 264 to 314, including 26 Rafale-M fighters. This initiative addresses China's expanding naval presence and enhances capabilities in anti-submarine warfare and maritime reconnaissance.
