India's Hypersonic Missile and Thailand's Frigate Procurement Shape Naval Landscape
India's Long Range Anti-Shipping Missile (LR-AShM) poses a strategic challenge to Chinese naval operations, while Thailand's frigate procurement project is set to influence Southeast Asian naval capabilities.

India's DRDO has unveiled the Long Range Anti-Shipping Missile (LR-AShM), which can exceed Mach 10 and reach ranges over 1,500 km. The missile is designed to target high-value naval assets, significantly enhancing India's coastal defense against the Chinese Navy.
Concurrently, the Royal Thai Navy plans to procure a 4,000-ton-class next-generation frigate valued at 17.5 billion baht, with bids currently narrowed down to Hanwha Ocean and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries. The outcome of this procurement could influence future naval projects in Southeast Asia.
Additionally, China's Type 071E amphibious transport dock ship agreement with Thailand marks a significant step in bilateral naval cooperation. Both developments indicate shifting maritime power dynamics in the region.
