Indonesia Joins The Coalition to Grow Carbon Markets to Enhance Climate Financing

CARBON CAPTURE

Indonesia, through its Ministry of Forestry, has joined The Coalition to Grow Carbon Markets, aiming to enhance global climate financing and represent its forestry sector. Minister Raja Juli Antoni announced the membership on January 21, 2026, during a roundtable discussion in London, following a meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The coalition focuses on expanding the use of high-integrity carbon credits to promote economic activities and support global climate objectives. Indonesia brings expertise in forest-based carbon projects, contributing to emission reductions and biodiversity preservation. The coalition includes ten other countries, such as Canada and France, and aims to strengthen policies around carbon markets while ensuring private sector investment in nature-based solutions.
