Ionly Launches Semi-Automated LFP Production in Spain, Expands Battery Offerings
Ionly has commenced serial production of lithium iron phosphate batteries in Valencia, enabling scalable home energy storage. The company's expansion caters to both residential and commercial sectors, enhancing local supply chain reliability.

Ionly has initiated serial production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries in Valencia, transitioning from hand-built prototypes to a semi-automated manufacturing process. This advancement aims to increase annual production capacity from 20 megawatt-hours to 100 megawatt-hours.
The new facility incorporates local sourcing for components while maintaining in-house assembly for enhanced quality control. Ionly's roadmap includes developing a commercial storage system starting at 50 kilowatt-hours and a utility-scale product by 2028.
The shift towards automation and compliance with EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 supports the company's sustainability and traceability objectives. The impact of this expansion could strengthen the regional supply chain and improve energy resilience for users.
