IonQ Launches InSAR for Earth Monitoring; Ombra Plans AI Hub in New York
IonQ has introduced a commercial InSAR capability for millimeter-scale monitoring with a three-day revisit cycle. Ombra is planning a 75,000-square-foot facility in northern New York, potentially creating 50 jobs and focusing on defense tech.

IonQ has launched its commercial Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) capability, enabling millimeter-precision ground deformation monitoring with a three-day revisit cycle. This fully automated system allows for consistent data collection, enhancing monitoring of infrastructure shifts and environmental changes.
Concurrently, Ombra is proposing a 75,000-square-foot facility in Massena, New York, aimed at integrating research, manufacturing, and AI capabilities for defense technology, with an estimated cost in the tens of millions of dollars. The project could generate approximately 50 permanent jobs and focuses on leveraging local talent.
In addition, General Dynamics Information Technology has filed a notice indicating potential layoffs affecting 87 employees in Washington, DC, highlighting workforce uncertainty in government contracting. The partnership between Seerist and Janes aims to streamline military intelligence workflows, providing real-time risk alerts and validated defense data for informed decision-making.
