IonQ to Acquire SkyWater Technology for $1.8 Billion in Cash-and-Stock Deal
IonQ has announced its acquisition of SkyWater Technology for approximately $1.8 billion, offering $15 in cash and $20 in shares per SkyWater share, which represents a 38% premium on its recent stock price. Following the deal's closure in the second or third quarter of 2026, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals, SkyWater will operate as a subsidiary, enhancing IonQ's quantum computing capabilities and establishing Regional Quantum Production Hubs.
