Iran's electricity industry is moving towards advanced and decentralized governance to enhance grid resilience. The managing director of Tavanir, Mohammad Allahdad, noted that centralized management is insufficient given the extensive network of over one million kilometers and 910,000 substations.
Despite suffering significant damage, including the destruction of 4,500 megawatts of capacity, the power grid maintained stability for the twenty-third consecutive year. Rapid crisis management measures, including fuel switching and intelligent load reduction, demonstrated the effectiveness of dispatching centers in preserving grid integrity. The establishment of new centers in Zanjan aligns with the strategy for greater resilience and improved control against future threats.
