Irish Government Approves Next-Generation Sites for Manufacturing Investment
Ireland's government has approved a strategic initiative to develop next-generation sites (NGS) to attract high-value manufacturing investments, including semiconductors and life sciences. This plan aims to create three sites over the next 15 years, each between 500 and 1,000 acres, to enhance competitive positioning in global markets.

The Irish Government has authorized a strategic plan for developing next-generation sites (NGS) to bolster its industrial competitiveness. IDA Ireland and the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment will lead the initiative, focusing on sectors such as semiconductors, life sciences, and renewables.
The NGS approach aims to establish pre-permitted landbanks with essential utilities and transportation infrastructure to expedite investment decisions. Each site, located in the west, east, and south of Ireland, will be selected based on connectivity to energy and transport networks.
This initiative aligns with the 'Silicon Island' strategy, enhancing Ireland's semiconductor industry through improved R&D and foreign investment attraction. The planned sites are expected to reduce risks and accelerate decision-making for investors.
