Ironwood City Commission Sets 2026 Goals and Approves Capital Improvement Plan
The Ironwood City Commission has set 2026 goals to address housing shortages, develop a downtown community center, improve city walkability, and focus on blight reduction. They adopted a six-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to ensure accountability in future projects.
The commission approved an internal loan of $315,704.07 for a cold storage building and authorized the sale of surplus water pumps. Additionally, they increased the motor grader purchase price to $384,900 and approved a payment of $957,485.37 to C.D.
Smith Construction for Water Treatment Plant work. An electronic sign for U.S. 2 travelers has been installed, and a closed session was held for real property purchase consideration.
