Italian Trade Agency and IMTMA Showcase Advanced Manufacturing at IMTEX 2026 to Boost India-Italy Relations
At IMTEX 2026, the Italian Trade Agency and IMTMA highlighted the strengthening industrial ties between Italy and India in advanced manufacturing. The event showcased innovations from four Italian companies, underlining Italy's position as India's second-largest supplier of metal forming machine tools, with significant exports in 2025. The OpportunItaly initiative facilitated connections, emphasizing the importance of IMTEX for fostering technology-driven partnerships as India invests in key sectors like automotive and aerospace.

At IMTEX 2026, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and UCIMU, alongside the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), emphasized the growing industrial collaboration between Italy and India in advanced manufacturing and machine tool technologies. The event, held from January 21 to 25, featured four Italian companies in the Italian Pavilion, displaying innovations in automation and precision engineering.
Italy was India's second-largest supplier of metal forming machine tools in 2025, with exports valued at EUR 85 million and a market share of 10.14%. The OpportunItaly initiative supported the pavilion, facilitating connections between Indian buyers and Italian suppliers. As India increases investments in sectors like automotive and aerospace, IMTEX serves as a vital platform for technology-driven engagement, promoting ongoing partnerships and strategic collaborations.
