IWI Launches Arbel: Computerized Upgrade for Standard Rifles Against Drones
Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) has introduced the Arbel system, a computerized trigger mechanism for standard rifles, enhancing target hit rates against drones. This innovation addresses the growing threat of small tactical drones in modern warfare, allowing soldiers to fire multiple rounds quickly and accurately.

IWI's Arbel system integrates computing technology into standard rifles, allowing soldiers to achieve multiple hits on drones in quick succession. Launched in 2024, following delays due to regional events, Arbel enhances performance without requiring significant changes to existing weapon systems.
The system analyzes shooter stability and timing to optimize follow-up shots, maintaining the rifle's mechanical first shot. IWI anticipates demand from 10-15 countries, particularly in Europe, where drone warfare has become prevalent.
The cost per engagement remains low, at $10-$20, making it operationally feasible for military budgets. Manufacturing remains in Israel, emphasizing the company's export-oriented model.
