J-Star and Patriot Green Energy to Develop U.S. Solid-State Battery Facility in Texas
J-Star Holding and Patriot Green Energy Technology are collaborating to establish a 100MWh solid-state battery production line in Texas. This initiative aims to enhance domestic battery manufacturing for the UAV sector, supported by U.S. Department of Energy funding and local economic development commitments.

J-Star Holding Co., Ltd. and Patriot Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. are forming a partnership to create a 100MWh automated solid-state battery production facility in Baytown, Texas. The project, aligned with the U.S.-Taiwan Agreement on Research and Technology, aims to support the UAV and drone markets, targeting an energy density of over 350 Wh/kg.
The facility will feature an ISO-7 certified dry room and advanced automation systems. A grant application has been submitted to the U.S. Department of Energy, and a commitment letter from the Baytown Economic Development Foundation secures land for construction.
This project capitalizes on anticipated growth in the UAV battery market, projected to increase from $6.01 billion in 2024 to $15.31 billion by 2029. J-Star's stock remains low, currently trading at $0.25, while the company reported $20.05 million in revenue over the last year.
