Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Approves ₹1,652.78 Crore Grants for Six Departments
The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly approved ₹1,652.78 crore in grants for six departments, including IT, food supply, and transport. Minister Satish Sharma highlighted initiatives for enhanced governance, digital services, and food security during the Budget Session 2026.

The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly passed grants totaling ₹1,652.78 crore for six departments: Information Technology, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, ARI & Training, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, and Science and Technology. Key allocations include ₹7,462.91 lakh for IT, ₹54,389.17 lakh for FCS&CA, and ₹12,646.11 lakh for Transport.
Minister Satish Sharma noted advancements in digital governance and food security, such as 100% automation of fair price shops and the introduction of new online services. The government aims to enhance service delivery through a single-window online portal and expand renewable energy initiatives.
