Jamshedpur Petrol Pumps Implement Transaction Caps to Prevent Fuel Hoarding
Jamshedpur petrol stations have capped diesel purchases at 300 liters and petrol at ₹3,000 per transaction to prevent hoarding amid rising crude oil prices. The measures, effective since April 10, are intended to curb black-marketing without current supply crises.

Petrol pumps in Jamshedpur have instituted transaction caps to prevent fuel hoarding, with diesel limited to 300 liters and petrol to ₹3,000. These measures began on April 10, with operators reporting no panic buying thus far.
In total, there are 35 fuel outlets in Jamshedpur, selling approximately 2.30 lakh liters of petrol and 2.80 lakh liters of diesel daily. Additionally, sales of petrol and diesel in loose containers have been prohibited.
Fuel companies are monitoring sales closely due to financial strain from increasing crude prices, which affects supply management. Similar restrictions are noted in Ranchi, where verbal directives to avoid container sales have been issued.
