Jefferson County Secures $750K Grant for Telegraph Hill-Rykers Ridge Sewer District Improvements
Jefferson County has been awarded a $750,000 grant from the Indiana Office of Community Affairs for improvements to the Telegraph Hill-Rykers Ridge Sewer District. The funding will facilitate upgrades to grinder pump stations, collection systems, and lift stations.
The total project cost is estimated at $2,747,500, with $175,000 from County Commissioners and a State Revolving Fund loan covering the remaining expenses. Construction is expected to start in a few months, depending on funding release and bidding processes. The sewer district has previously invested over $1.4 million in repairs and now requires significant capital improvements to meet Indiana Department of Environmental Management standards.
