The 2026 Kawasaki KX450 build, named Roxy, was initiated by Jamie Ellis from Twisted Development to enhance the bike's performance. Initially viewed as a slow machine, the KX450 underwent significant modifications to improve speed and handling. Key enhancements included headwork, custom piston and valves, a mapped ECU, and upgraded throttle and transmission components.

The 2026 Kawasaki KX450 build, named Roxy, was born from a collaboration with Jamie Ellis of Twisted Development. The aim was to transform the KX450, which had a reputation for being sluggish, into a high-performance motorcycle.
Modifications included headwork, epoxy porting, a custom piston, valve seats, and a mapped Vortex ECU, as well as enhancements to the throttle body and transmission. Additionally, the bike received 23mm offset split triple clamps and anti-twist bar mounts. This project sought to determine if the upgraded KX450 could achieve extreme speed while remaining manageable.
