Kazakhstan Unveils Designs for Alatau City Featuring Landmark Skyscraper and Advanced Technologies
The Alatau Iconic Complex in Kazakhstan's Alatau City will include a 272-meter skyscraper and an 80-meter hotel tower. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the project aims to serve as a testbed for advanced technologies, including eVTOL aircraft and smart transport. The city will cover 88,000 hectares across four districts, supported by government and investors as a national initiative.

Kazakhstan's Alatau City will feature the Alatau Iconic Complex, including a 272-meter skyscraper designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). The complex also includes an 80-meter luxury hotel tower.
The city aims to pilot advanced technologies and will incorporate smart transport options like eVTOL aircraft. Located along the Almaty-Qonaev highway, the project spans 88,000 hectares across four districts and is backed by the Alatau City Development Group and government partners. The design considers the region's seismic risks, incorporating resilient architectural features.
