Kenya, Uganda, and Egypt Launch Climate Camera to ISS
On April 8, the Kenya Space Agency, in collaboration with Uganda and Egypt, will launch the Climate Camera (ClimCam) to the ISS. This mission represents a significant regional effort in climate monitoring and space technology.

The Climate Camera (ClimCam) is scheduled for launch aboard a Cygnus NG-42 Mission atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on April 8 at 3:51 p.m. East African Time. The payload, a collaborative effort among the Egyptian Space Agency, Kenya Space Agency, and Uganda National Space Programme, underwent assembly and testing in Cairo and final validation at Airbus facilities in Houston, preparing it for operational deployment in space.
ClimCam aims to provide AI-powered, near real-time weather and climate data, enhancing disaster response and resource management in East Africa. The project was selected by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, underlining its global significance. This initiative highlights the increasing collaboration among African nations in tackling climate challenges.
