KEPCO KDN Signs MOU to Establish Carbon Emissions Accounting System for Exports and Logistics
KEPCO KDN, a public enterprise in energy ICT, signed a multilateral MOU with the Korea International Trade Association and five other organizations to establish a carbon emissions accounting system for exports and logistics. This initiative responds to global carbon regulations like the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
The focus is on creating a reliable data foundation to systematically collect greenhouse gas emission data from export logistics and transportation. The MOU outlines collaborative efforts to establish a big data-based carbon reduction system, build infrastructure for transparency, and enhance corporate competitiveness in overseas markets. The DTP and GVC platform service, set to launch in July, will assist exporters in accurately calculating transportation-related carbon emissions and analyzing supply chain risks.
