Kimberly-Clark Advances Supply Chain Strategy Amid $3 Billion Productivity Initiative
Kimberly-Clark is implementing a $3 billion productivity enhancement program initiated in 2024, focusing on supply chain efficiencies. The company aims to optimize its network and scale automation, projecting increased capital investment in 2026 and 2027.

Kimberly-Clark is over halfway through a five-year, $3 billion productivity enhancement initiative. Key components driving this strategy include value stream simplification, network optimization, and automation scaling, according to CFO Nelson Urdaneta.
The company plans to invest $2 billion in U.S. operations, with significant allocations for an automated distribution center in South Carolina and an advanced facility in Ohio. The South Carolina site, the largest globally, aims to enhance efficiency through robotics and AI logistics.
Additionally, a merger with Kenvue, expected to conclude in H2 2026, is anticipated to yield further supply chain productivity improvements. However, Kimberly-Clark faces challenges from an April fire affecting a distribution center near Los Angeles, projecting a 70-to-80 basis-point impact on shipments.
