FLOW CONTROL
Kirklees Council is set to invest over £3 million in essential repairs and improvements to more than 20 schools for the 2026/27 period. Planned upgrades include replacing roofs, rewiring electrical systems, installing LED lighting, and enhancing fire safety.
Major projects involve roofing work at Norristhorpe J & I School and Whitechapel Primary School and new heat pumps at Wilberlee J & I School. A £200,000 allocation will support adaptations for students with disabilities.
Works are scheduled primarily during the summer holidays to reduce disruption. The program is funded through government capital grants.
