Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage Distributes Relief in Cyclone-Hit Sri Lanka
The Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage (KSCH) provided relief to 800 families affected by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka, distributing essential supplies such as drinking water, dry rations, and clothing from November 30 to December 6. In addition to supporting local shelters and feeding stray dogs, KSCH established a branch named Grace Island, which focuses on mangrove afforestation to enhance coastal resilience and generate carbon credits.

Sourav Mukherjee and his team from the Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage (KSCH) provided relief to 800 families affected by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka. They distributed 6,000 liters of drinking water, dry rations, cooked meals, garments, and sanitary and baby care essentials across Kaduwela, Athurugiriya, Malabe, Chilaw, Negombo, Puttalam, and Dankotuwa from November 30 to December 6.
The initiative also included feeding stray dogs and supporting local shelters. KSCH established a branch named Grace Island in Sri Lanka, focusing on mangrove afforestation to mitigate climate impacts, aiming to generate approximately 196,000 carbon credits annually. The project will enhance coastal resilience and support community livelihoods.
