Kopin Advances MicroLED Technology for Soldier Applications Amid Defense Sector Developments
Kopin has achieved three milestones in developing MicroLED displays for US Army soldier vision systems, exceeding 150,000 nits brightness. The company plans to commence manufacturing by mid-2027, enhancing digital overlays and situational awareness for troops in the field.

Kopin's MicroLED technology has surpassed 150,000 nits brightness, achieving significant milestones in a US Army-backed initiative. The company is integrating this technology into optical systems for soldier-worn applications and plans to start manufacturing by mid-2027.
Concurrently, the US Army awarded Anduril a $159 million contract for Soldier Borne Mission Command (SBMC) prototyping, aimed at enhancing battlefield information delivery. Additionally, MITS Capital's investment in Dropla Tech targets production growth of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), with a goal of producing 3,000 units annually.
Dropla Tech's Blue Eyes Warbox system, now assigned a NATO Stock Number, is designed for explosive threat detection. The developments signal a commitment to advancing soldier technology and integrating AI solutions in defense.
