Latvijas Finieris is investing €15 million to expand its Riga Wood Finland Oy plant in Sastamala, Finland, to increase production capacity and automation. A new peeling line will be installed in autumn 2026, with operations starting in early 2027.

Construction progress includes laid foundations for a new finishing basin and a raised roof over 550 m². This investment is expected to enhance regional employment and is supported by OP Corporate Bank. The company aims to process about half of its veneer log volume outside Latvia due to competition for efficient land use in Europe.
