Lingezegen BESS Battery Storage Project Launched to Support Greenhouse Growers in Gelderland, Netherlands
A large-scale battery energy storage project, Lingezegen BESS, has been commissioned in Gelderland, Netherlands, to support local greenhouse growers. The 15 MW battery, operational since March 1, enables flexible storage of renewable energy. Funded by a public-private partnership, including Oost NL and Rabobank, the project aims to alleviate grid congestion and enhance energy supply reliability for the region's agricultural sector.

The Lingezegen BESS battery energy storage project has been launched in Gelderland, Netherlands, to support greenhouse growers. With a capacity exceeding 15 MW, the battery became operational on March 1.
It allows for the storage and flexible deployment of locally generated renewable energy. The project is funded through a partnership involving Oost NL, the Gelderland Climate Fund, the National Green Fund, and Rabobank. The battery addresses grid congestion by absorbing excess electricity during high supply periods and releasing it during shortages, thereby improving the local energy system's reliability and supporting regional economic growth.
