Little Rock Port Authority Awards $997K Contract to McGeorge Contracting for Drainage Project
The Little Rock Port Authority Board has approved a $997,564 contract with McGeorge Contracting Co., Inc. to build a drainage ditch at its megasite. The sole-source agreement was necessary to meet a deadline for a $2 million site development grant expiring on June 30. Additionally, the board authorized a $777,000 contract with Pickering Firm, Inc. for a rail extension project and plans to apply for a $35 million Department of Transportation grant.

The Little Rock Port Authority Board awarded a $997,564 contract to McGeorge Contracting Co., Inc. for a drainage ditch construction at the Port's megasite. The decision to waive competitive bidding was due to time constraints related to a $2 million site development grant expiring on June 30.
The contract was $240,500 less than the engineering estimate. Additionally, the board approved a $777,000 contract with Pickering Firm, Inc. for a rail extension project and plans to seek a $35 million grant from the Department of Transportation. Congress allocated $30 million for two Port projects: a $10 million pump station and a $20 million workforce training center.
