Lund University Secures Funding in Six Research Areas from Swedish Research Council
Lund University is set to receive funding in six out of eight proposed national research environments, focusing on crime prevention and advanced materials. The total funding recommended by the Swedish Research Council amounts to 200 million kronor in 2027 and 400 million kronor in 2028, pending government approval.

The Swedish Research Council has identified Lund University for inclusion in six national research environments, with funding proposals amounting to 200 million kronor in 2027 and 400 million kronor in 2028. Lund University coordinates the applications for 'Resilience in Crime Prevention' and 'Materials 4.0 Sweden,' with proposed funding of 12.5 million kronor in 2027 and 25 million kronor in 2028 for crime prevention, and 7.4 million kronor in 2027 and 15.1 million kronor in 2028 for advanced materials.
If approved, Lund will participate in 17 of 36 research environments. This initiative could significantly enhance Sweden's capabilities in crime prevention and semiconductor research.
