Lyntris, Inc. has completed a multi-year investment to establish PCM manufacturing capabilities at its Jessup, Maryland location, with production capacity available by Q3 2026. The new production line is designed for high-rate manufacturing of thermal hardware and sensors, integrating precision machining, vacuum brazing, and thermal performance testing.
PCM heat sinks function as thermal batteries, absorbing heat generated by electronics without the need for active cooling systems. This capability supports missile and sensor programs and is anticipated to meet the demands of thousands of units in production.
The company is engaging with defense contractors to expand applications of this technology. The reliance on PCM technology could significantly enhance the reliability and performance of compact defense systems.
