Maersk Opens S$200 Million Automated Warehouse in Singapore
Maersk inaugurated a S$200 million fully automated distribution center in Singapore, enhancing its logistics and e-commerce capabilities in the Asia-Pacific. The 1.1 million sq ft facility, World Gateway II, increases Maersk's footprint to over 2 million sq ft and is designed to serve as a regional distribution hub. With 70% occupancy, it will create about 500 jobs and feature advanced automation technologies. Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong emphasized its importance for Singapore's logistics ecosystem amidst changing global trade dynamics.

Maersk has launched its S$200 million fully automated distribution center, World Gateway II, in Singapore, increasing its logistics footprint in the city to over 2 million sq ft. The facility, located in Benoi, is designed to support regional and global distribution for various companies and has achieved around 70% occupancy.
Once operational, it will employ approximately 500 workers in various roles. The center features advanced automation technologies, including a multi-shuttle system and robots, aimed at improving order fulfillment and reducing manual handling. Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong highlighted the significance of this investment to Singapore's logistics ecosystem and the need for continual development to adapt to shifting global trade flows.
