Maharashtra Allocates ₹24,889 Cr for Renewable Energy Development in FY2025-26
Maharashtra has spent ₹24,889 crore on renewable energy in FY2025-26, representing 9.8% of total expenditure. The state ranks third in India for installed renewable energy capacity, which is 34.4% of total capacity for 2024-25. MEDA accredited 371 projects with a capacity of 1,182.02 MW by December 2025. The state has implemented various policies and schemes to enhance renewable energy use, including solar and agricultural electrification initiatives.

Maharashtra's spending on renewable energy reached ₹24,889 crore for FY2025-26, accounting for 9.8% of total state expenditure. The state ranks third in India with a renewable energy share of 34.4% of its total installed capacity for 2024-25.
Under the Renewable Energy Certification Mechanism, MEDA has accredited 371 projects totaling 1,182.02 MW capacity by December 2025. The state government has enacted policies to promote renewable energy and has energised 51.26 lakh agricultural pumps. The Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0 has installed 2,887.8 MW of solar capacity since May 2023, while the Mukhyamantri Baliraja Mofat Vij Yojana provides free electricity to over 45 lakh agricultural pump users.
