MAHE and Dhruva Space Establish ASCENT Centre for Space Technology Development
MAHE and Dhruva Space have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to co-develop the ASCENT Centre, aiming to enhance India's space technology capabilities. This initiative will foster research, talent development, and operational applications in space systems engineering, culminating in interplanetary missions by 2035.

MAHE and Dhruva Space have partnered to create the ASCENT (Advanced Space Capability, Engineering & New-space Technologies) Centre, set to launch in late 2026. The Centre will support the development of at least three CubeSat missions by 2028, expand into a swarm constellation of femto satellites by 2030, and pursue an interplanetary technology demonstration mission by 2035.
Key facilities will include a Class 10,000 cleanroom and advanced testing equipment. By integrating academic research with industry practices, ASCENT aims to produce mission-ready talent and enhance India's competitive position in the global space sector. This collaboration is critical for translating research innovations into operational capabilities amid rapid advancements in India's commercial space ecosystem.
