Malaga to Become Hub for Quantum Computer Manufacturing
Quantum Labs plans to manufacture quantum computers in Malaga, establishing it as a key player in the industry. This initiative follows the installation of a 317-qubit quantum computer at the University of Malaga's supercomputing center in late 2023, aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration in quantum technology.

Quantum Labs, a joint venture between China Link ESGT and Origin Quantum, will not only install a quantum computer in Malaga but will also manufacture them locally. The first phase involves deploying a 317-qubit machine at the University of Malaga by late 2023, with a second phase targeting full production of quantum computers, including quantum chips and cooling systems.
The factory is expected to be compact, similar to their facility in China, which is approximately 1,000 square meters. Quantum Labs aims to manage the entire value chain and collaborate with startups and companies on various applications, including cybersecurity and healthcare. They plan to undertake 20 to 30 projects annually, enhancing Malaga's position in advanced computing.
