Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling for Pool Pumps Implemented in Australia
As of October 1, 2022, swimming pool and spa pool pumps in Australia must comply with minimum energy efficiency performance standards and display an Energy Rating Label. This regulation is part of the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012 and the Swimming Pool Pump-units Determination 2021. SPASA has collaborated with the Australian Government's regulator to create resources for suppliers and installers to navigate these new requirements.

Since October 1, 2022, swimming pool and spa pool pumps in Australia are required to meet minimum energy efficiency performance standards and display an Energy Rating Label. These regulations are under the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012 and the Swimming Pool Pump-units Determination 2021.
SPASA has partnered with the Australian Government Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Regulator to develop fact sheets to assist suppliers, retailers, and installers in understanding and complying with these requirements. The voluntary energy rating labelling program has concluded.
