Marmox Thermoblocks Used in Tudor Barn Reconstruction in East Cambridgeshire
The reconstruction of a Tudor-era barn in East Cambridgeshire incorporates Marmox Thermoblocks for thermal bridging. Owner Ben Hughes oversees the self-build project, using blocks in various sizes to support a traditional oak beam structure. The project includes a single-storey layout with a mezzanine and aims to meet Building Regulations with enhanced insulation.

The reconstruction of Mitchell's Barn in East Cambridgeshire utilizes Marmox Thermoblocks to address thermal bridging. Owner Ben Hughes is replacing dilapidated structures with a four-bedroom, three-bathroom self-build project, employing 144 x 140x65mm, 18 x 100x65mm, and 50 x 215x65mm Thermoblocks.
The design adheres to Building Regulations, featuring an insulated cavity wall and an air source heat pump. The blocks are bedded in conventional mortar with high-performance adhesive for stability. Hughes is also consulting on the use of Marmox's Multiboard for bathroom fittings. Thermoblocks are known for their strength and insulation, suitable for various construction applications.
