Marotta Controls Launches BPE-35 Propellant Gear Pump for Spacecraft Propulsion
Marotta Controls has unveiled the BPE-35 Propellant Gear Pump, an electrically driven solution for hypergolic propellants MMH and NTO. This compact pump aims to enhance spacecraft propulsion systems, reducing mass and volume compared to traditional pressure-fed systems.

Marotta Controls has introduced the BPE-35 Propellant Gear Pump, designed for use with hypergolic propellants MMH and NTO. The pump, suitable for pump-fed propulsion architectures, has completed functional testing with MON3 and is aimed at improving mission capabilities by reducing system mass.
It utilizes an external gear design and is powered by a brushless DC motor, making it compatible with modern spacecraft power systems. The BPE-35 is particularly relevant for missions requiring rapid maneuvering and high delta-V applications. The technology's introduction may shift propulsion design paradigms, potentially impacting payload capacity and mission efficiency in future space initiatives.
