McLaren Construction Midlands and North has made significant progress on the TJ Morris Distribution Centre in Doncaster. The steel frame was completed in November, with ground floor slab works beginning the same month.

The facility is expected to be fully watertight by the end of February, and cladding works are set for completion in Spring. The Vehicle Maintenance Unit is fully erected, with 90% of cladding installed and internal fit-out starting in March.

Office fit-out works will commence in early February. Externally, base course tarmac completion is targeted for late March. Approximately 20,200m³ of concrete has been produced on-site, reducing vehicle movements and carbon emissions.

The 829,000 sq ft facility will support over 300 Home Bargains stores and is projected to create up to 1,000 jobs. It will be handed over for automation installation later this year, aiming for full operations by Summer 2028.
