Melbourne Water completed its largest connected metering project, implementing real-time telemetry across surface water diversion meters in the Yarra and lower Maribyrnong catchments. The project affects over 1,300 licence holders who utilize Melbourne Water's river network.

Continuous monitoring of water use will improve compliance oversight and provide licence holders with direct access to real-time consumption data. The initiative was developed in partnership with Sage Automation and Kallipr, focusing on responsible water management and enhancing trust and planning.
