Memorial University Receives $31 Million from Hebron and Hibernia Projects for Education and Research Initiatives
Memorial University has secured $31 million from the Hebron and Hibernia projects to enhance student learning and research, primarily benefiting the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. Key initiatives include the expansion of the Student Design Hub, the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Placement Program, and advanced research laboratories. Funding will impact over 500 students and support training for future leaders in various technology and engineering sectors.

Memorial University has received $31 million from the Hebron and Hibernia projects aimed at enhancing education and research, particularly in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. The funding includes $1.98 million for the Student Design Hub, benefiting 500 students, and $860,000 for the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Placement Program, supporting over 150 students in the technology sector.
Major investments include $16 million for an additive manufacturing lab and $6.8 million for carbon capture research. Additional projects will focus on advancing marine technologies and transforming the mining industry with AI and data analytics, training over 60 personnel in total.
