Micro-Epsilon Launches EtherCAT-Compatible Optical Micrometer for Enhanced Automation
Micro-Epsilon has upgraded its optoCONTROL 2700 LED micrometer to include EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET compatibility, facilitating easier integration into automation systems and enabling real-time data transmission. The micrometer offers high-precision measurements in two models with ranges of 10 and 40mm, and features active tilt correction for objects up to 63 degrees. Additionally, a firmware update allows for 360-degree inspections of rotating components, making it suitable for industries like mechanical shaft production and glass manufacturing.

Micro-Epsilon has enhanced its optoCONTROL 2700 LED micrometer, adding industrial Ethernet compatibility with EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET interfaces. This upgrade simplifies integration into existing automation systems, ensuring real-time data transmission.
The micrometer provides high-precision measurements across two models with ranges of 10 and 40mm, and active tilt correction accommodates objects tilted up to 63 degrees. A firmware update now allows for 360-degree inspections of rotating components, evaluating various tolerances like concentricity and roundness. The system is suitable for challenging environments and can measure transparent objects accurately, benefiting industries such as mechanical shaft production and glass manufacturing.
