Microsoft Opens Denmark East Datacenter Region After Five Years of Construction
Microsoft has officially opened its Denmark East datacenter region after five years of construction, which began in 2018. This new facility includes Microsoft's full cloud environment, such as Azure and Microsoft 365. The opening marks the culmination of a project that took 1,934 days to complete, involving extensive building and testing phases.

Microsoft has launched its Denmark East datacenter region following over five years of construction. The project began in 2018 and was announced by former Microsoft director Nana Bule alongside DI director Lars Sandahl and former finance minister Nicolai Wammen in late 2020.
The new region encompasses Microsoft's complete cloud services, including Azure and Microsoft 365. The construction and testing process spanned 1,934 days, leading to today's opening. Microsoft has been cautious in providing specific opening dates throughout the project.
