Mid-Plains Community College to Open New Electrical Technology Building on February 18
Mid-Plains Community College will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new electrical technology building on February 18 at 4 p.m. at North Platte Community College, marking the first new construction on the north campus since the early 1990s. The Electrical Technology program, established in 1979, has expanded to include an Electrical Automation degree and maintains full enrollment with a waitlist.
The new facility enhances safety, visibility, and efficiency in training, allowing for individual workstations and improved hands-on training. It will also offer continuing education and professional development for current electricians. The program can be completed in one year through five 8-week courses, emphasizing hands-on training to prepare graduates for the workforce.
