Mimic Robotics Launches Advanced Dexterous Robotic Hand for Industrial Automation
Mimic Robotics has introduced the Mimic Hand M1, a tendon-driven robotic hand designed for industrial automation, featuring 15 degrees of freedom and a payload capacity of over 55 pounds. This development aims to enhance the dexterity and precision of robotic systems, allowing for effective manipulation of both delicate and heavy objects.

The Mimic Hand M1 integrates actuators in the forearm, utilizing a tendon-driven mechanism inspired by human anatomy to provide strength and compactness. Weighing approximately 4 pounds (1.8 kg), it achieves a gripping capability for loads above 55 pounds (25 kg) while detecting forces as minor as 0.1 newtons.
The hand's design includes high-resolution force sensing and pressure-sensitive fingertips, offering real-time adjustments for delicate tasks. Mimic Robotics positions the M1 as a sensor-rich platform for Physical AI, addressing the challenge of skill transfer from human demonstrations to robots. The M1, part of a comprehensive robotics ecosystem including the U1 exoskeleton, aims to advance general-purpose robotic applications across various industries.
