Mulonga Water Completes Infrastructure Rehabilitation in Chililabombwe
Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company has finalized a €1.1 million rehabilitation project in Chililabombwe, aimed at resolving significant water shortages for approximately 6,000 residents. This initiative is part of the broader Zambia Water and Sanitation Project and addresses critical service delivery issues within the region.

The rehabilitation project in Chililabombwe, valued at €1,127,191.59, involved the replacement of outdated pumps and the installation of modern pumping and electrical infrastructure. Following a major pump failure on January 24, 2026, residents faced severe water supply challenges, prompting the need for these upgrades.
The new systems at the Konkola Water Treatment Plant and Mingomba Raw Water Pump Station have restored reliable water supply to the Konkola Township. This project aligns with national priorities for improved water security and service efficiency. Continued improvements in operational efficiency and customer service by Mulonga Water are essential for sustaining the restored infrastructure's benefits.
