Nagaland Governor Announces Urbanization Progress and Infrastructure Projects
Nagaland's urban population has reached 28.86%. The government is implementing 12 infrastructure projects, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban 2.0 in all statutory towns. Registered startups generated over 1,500 jobs last year. Nagaland ranked 3rd among Small States in the Export Preparedness Index 2024 and inaugurated a Centre of Excellence in Industry 4.0. A 220/132/33kV substation is under construction to enhance power supply. The state is also focusing on renewable energy and disaster resilience initiatives.

Nagaland's urban population is now over 28.86%. The state government is executing 12 infrastructure projects under the Department of Urban Development for 2024-25, including market complex constructions.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban 2.0 will be implemented in all 39 statutory towns. Registered startups created over 1,500 jobs with a turnover of Rs.73.80 crore. Nagaland ranked 3rd among Small States in the Export Preparedness Index 2024.
A 220/132/33kV substation is being built to improve power supply in four districts, with completion expected by September 2026. Renewable energy initiatives include solar water pump installations and water body development under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan Campaign.
