Nashville Electric Service Partners for Large-Scale Battery Storage Project
Nashville Electric Service is set to enhance its power grid with a $439 million project involving large battery installations. This initiative aims to improve grid stability and reduce costs during peak demand periods.

Nashville Electric Service (NES) is collaborating with Seven States Power to implement a battery storage project that will add 100 megawatts of capacity to its electric distribution system. Funded by a $439 million zero-interest loan and grant from the U.S.
Department of Agriculture, construction is anticipated to commence in 2027 and conclude by December 2028. The battery installations will be positioned at various NES substations, supporting the electric needs of about 12,000 homes and businesses in the Greater Nashville area. The project is expected to enhance grid reliability and create job opportunities during its construction phase, addressing high-stress periods effectively.
