NAUDI Advocates for Lifting Arms Export Restrictions to Enhance Defense Capacity
NAUDI has called for immediate removal of restrictions on arms exports to bolster Ukraine's defense industry, currently underutilized due to limited government orders. The association stresses that resolving funding issues is crucial to prevent loss of production capacity and strengthen Ukraine's geopolitical position.

The National Association of the Defence Industry of Ukraine (NAUDI) has urged for the lifting of restrictions on controlled arms exports, highlighting that the current system acts more as a barrier than a facilitator. They advocate for processing export applications within 14 days and suggest a 10% export duty to fund arms procurement for the Security and Defence Forces.
NAUDI asserts that controlled exports, prioritizing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, could enhance defense capabilities and create tax revenue, jobs, and increased production capacity. Without addressing funding shortfalls and systemic issues, the sector risks a decline in production capacity and foreign market competitiveness. Ukraine's prior ban on military exports, enacted during the full-scale invasion in 2022, may be reconsidered in 2024.
